About me

My Journey

After completing my degree in psychology, I spent several years working in the voluntary sector, supporting adult clients recovering from severe mental health challenges, as well as their families and carers. During that time my work involved offering one-to-one in-person guidance, facilitating support groups, and providing support and advice via a helpline, helping people navigate difficult times with care and understanding.

I later transitioned into marketing and communications within the voluntary sector, working with children and young people’s charities. During that period, I contributed to projects addressing early childhood development, youth participation, and special educational needs and disabilities. This work deepened my understanding of the importance of support networks and advocacy at every stage of life.

Seeking a new challenge, I went on to start my own business importing and distributing fine food and wine from Greece. While this venture was exciting and rewarding in many ways, I came to a key realisation: the most fulfilling part of the work was the meaningful connections I built with my customers. This insight inspired me to yet again change my career path and reconnect with my original passion; supporting others on a deeper, more personal level, which ultimately paved the way for my journey into counselling.

Since then, I have set up my own private practice, and I also work with a specialist mental health charity, offering in-person trauma-informed counselling to women who have experienced domestic abuse or abusive relationships.

My background in psychology and communications, combined with many years working in the voluntary sector in various roles supporting a diverse range of clients, and running my own independent business for over a decade, informs my practice. Over the years, I have worked in areas including mental health, parenting, caregiving, special education needs and disabilities, depression, anxiety, stress, anger, shame, domestic abuse, low confidence, low self-esteem, relationship issues, work related issues, suicidal ideation, trauma, bereavement, loneliness, stuckness. These professional and personal experiences have strengthened my commitment to creating safe, supportive spaces for healing and growth, and have given me a deep understanding and appreciation of the challenges people face and the resilience they can cultivate.
